After a record-breaking July and a busy August, Canada’s Express Entry system has seen shifts in the candidate pool and in ITA recipients. Here’s a snapshot of the current pool composition and cut-off scores from the past month to keep you informed about Canadian immigration.

What Were the Highlights of August’s Draws?

In August, Canada conducted five Express Entry draws, issuing over 10,000 ITAs and returning to the regular biweekly draw schedule.

August’s draws reflect changes announced by Immigration Minister Marc Miller, focusing on more “domestic” CEC and PNP draws to prioritize those already in Canada and ease housing and affordability pressures. This shift aims to meet PR targets and support Francophone immigration, with the percentage of French-speaking immigrants outside Quebec increasing from 6% this year to 8% by 2026. So far in 2024, seven French language proficiency draws have issued over 19,000 ITAs.
